Cochran Ltd has been awarded accreditation from Safecontractor for its commitment to achieving excellence in health and Safety.
Safecontractor is a leading third party accreditation scheme which recognises very high standards in health and safety management amongst UK contractors.
Under the Safecontractor scheme, Cochran underwent a vetting process which examined health and safety procedures and our track record for safe practice.
Client-organisations who sign up to the scheme can access the database, enabling them to vet potential contractors before they even set foot on site. These clients agree than, as users of the scheme, they will engage only those who have received accreditation.
Cochran was guided through the process by Graham Illingworth, our dedicated Health & Safety Manager. Graham's role is to ensure that our 210 staff (including 50 plus engineers based off-site) and contractors are working in as safe a possible environment.
Commenting on the accreditation of Safecontractor Graham said "More companies need to understand the importance of adopting good risk management in the way that Cochran has done. The firm's high standard has set an example which hopefully will be followed by other companies within the sector.
Safecontractor plays a vital role in supporting our clients in meeting their compliance needs, whilst working with their contractors as they progress through the accreditation process."
Graham added "Our engineers are already trained to meet the requirements of Gas Safe and the CEA Boiler Operator Accreditation Scheme. We are pleased to have now been awarded Safecontractor accreditation to add to the existing approval from the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS). We believe this will give our customers increased confidence that using Cochran helps them to keep their site safe."
