Key Objectives

Due to continued growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Controls System Engineer within the Engineering department at Cochran. We are looking for a candidate who thrives in a fast paced field, a keen eye for detail and is passionate about delivering continuous improvements to products and services that have stood the test of time over a 125 year heritage.

Main Tasks/Responsibilities

Develop and support Control Systems for boiler and combustion equipment | Support and implement engineering solutions for new product and technology upgrades | Working within a cross-functional teamwork with high level of self-initiative | Drive continuous improvement including the use of preventative and reactive problem solving | Maintain back-ups of control system parameters, programs, and software | Create and maintain effective documentation of technical procedures | Structured approach to managing and delivering tasks/projects.

Desirable Skills and Qualities

Experience of Boiler and Combustion Control Systems would be advantageous, although training will be provided | Proficiency in programming e.g. PLCs, Siemens TIA Portal would be advantageous, although training will be provided | Ability to read and define electrical drawings | HNC/HND in electrical Engineering or equivalent | A solid understanding and experience of industry best practice

Working Hours

37 hours a week, based at our Offices in Newbie near Annan | Salary Banding £35-£45K
