Who should attend this 1 day course?

Delegates who are completely new to steam boilers and steam systems.
Delegates who are moving into a basic boiler or steam role and require a greater appreciation
Delegates who need to suitably trained to answer alarms under BG01

What will the delegate learn?

An understanding of steam, how it is produced and why it is used
How steam gives up energy
The value and dangers of condensate
How a boiler affects the steam system and vice versa
Safety features on a steam boiler and testing safety devices
What the alarms mean and what to look out for when answering alarms

Course Objectives

By the end of this course the delegate will be able to:
Show a greater understanding of how steam is produced safely and efficiently
Appreciate how steam systems are designed to get steam to the point of use safely and efficiently
Have a knowledge of safety features around a boiler and how they are tested
Understand different types of steam e.g. wet steam, dry steam, superheated steam and advantages and disadvantages of each.
Have knowledge how production affects boilers and how boilers affect production.
Have knowledge of how alarms are tested,
Be able to respond to alarms and appreciate what to look for, in order to make the boiler “Safe”.

Can be delivered on customer site maximum 8 delegates
