We are looking for a reliable and hardworking individual to join our team in a key housekeeping and support role. Responsible for maintaining a clean, tidy and safe workshop, factory and yard areas, you will play an important part in helping us uphold high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance across the site. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys being active throughout the day, and is committed to creating a safe and organised workplace for colleagues, visitors and contractors. Working both independently and as part of the wider team, you will support housekeeping activities, waste management, material movements and general site operations while promoting a clean-as-you-go culture throughout the business.
Pattern: Full-time, 37 hours per week, Mon-Thurs 8am-4:30pm, Fri 8am-1pm

Key Objectives
Responsible for maintaining clean, tidy and safe workshop, factory, and yard areas. The role supports good housekeeping standards across the site by reducing slip, trip and fire risks, ensuring waste is managed correctly, and helping to maintain a safe, healthy working environment for employees, visitors, contractors and other persons within the business.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
• Predominantly responsible for sweeping, cleaning and maintaining factory and yard floors using hand brushes, industrial cleaning equipment.
• Duties include emptying bins and skips, segregating waste materials, keeping walkways and emergency routes clear, cleaning up spillages promptly, supporting safe storage of materials, and reporting hazards, damage, defects or maintenance concerns to the Supervisor/Factory Manager.
• The post holder may also be required to operate a counter-balance forklift truck, drive company vehicles, assist with general labouring duties, support movement of materials and undertake any other reasonable skilled or unskilled tasks where necessary and appropriate.
• The post holder must follow all company health, safety and environmental procedures, wear the required PPE, complete relevant training before operating plant or equipment, and maintain a clean-as-you-go approach throughout the working day.
• The role may involve manual handling, working outdoors in varying weather conditions, and working around production activities, vehicles and plant.
Essential Skills, Qualities and Experience
• A counter-balance forklift truck license
• A full UK driving license
• This is a physically demanding role involving prolonged period of standing and walking, regular bending and reaching and the manual handling of equipment and materials. Applicants must be able to undertake the essential duties of the role safely and effectively. The role regularly involves:
o Manually handling items
o Standing for prolonged periods of time
o Walking distances throughout the day to move around the site
• Awareness of workplace health and safety requirements, including correct use of PPE.
• Ability to work safely with cleaning equipment, waste materials and moving vehicles or plant.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Good communication skills and willingness to report hazards or concerns promptly.
• Flexible approach and willingness to assist other areas of the business when required.
