Cochran Donate Additional Firepower

The Internal Fire Museum of Power is a museum dedicated to the internal combustion engine particularly of the early large power types, many in recreated period settings, showing how they would have looked, and how their owners prized them.
The museum also has a number of steam engines, which also support and form a part of the history of the development of industrial power usage from around a hundred years ago. To show these engines in operation the museum required a source of steam generation. The museum contacted Malcolm Lambe, a Cochran Engineer and steam enthusiast looking for assistance. Malcolm arranged for Cochran to donate a vertical small footprint VFB steam boiler to the museum.
The boiler was collected over the Christmas period and, with Malcolm’s help, has been fitted out with an LPG burner and all the necessary valves, controls and fittings to allow for automatic operation. The finished boiler has now been delivered to the museum’s home in Tanygroes near Aberystwyth and has enabled their prized exhibits to be shown in all their glory
