Key Objective

We are always looking for established Pipe Fitter/Welder to join our busy field based Repair Squad. You will ideally already be established in this type of role or have some of the skills we are looking for and willing to undertake further training to become fully competent in the role.

Main Tasks/Responsibilities

Reporting to the Aftermarket Support Manager, you will be required to carry out boiler/furnace repairs, re-tubing, boiler strips and installations, welding preparation and pipefitting all in accordance with current legislation. You will deal directly with internal/external customers, making a positive contribution to the business using your own initiative in this customer facing role. A flexible working pattern is essential to satisfy project and customer requirements.

The successful applicant will be required to travel throughout the Region/UK and possibly overseas with full support facilities provided to carry out repairs on shell boilers and assist with equipment upgrades/retrofits.

Required Skills and Qualities

Recognised Welding Qualification (Positional MMA, TIG and MIG) | Tubing and pipefitting experience | General Fabrication and Installation experience | Product knowledge of boiler plant and associated systems | Flexibility and ability to work on own initiative and away from home regularly | Good communication, organisational and customer care skills | Reasonable general fitness level required to undertake many of the processes and work in confined spaces/at height | Driving licence | Completion of Recognised Craft Apprenticeship (desirable)
