Due to retirement, Cochran Ltd are seeking a Purchasing Administrator to work within the Purchasing Department to assist the Purchasing Manager in the sourcing, procurement, receipt and control of materials and equipment. To provide administrative support across the company to meet the business needs. This position is full-time, based in Newbie and reports to the Purchasing Manager.


What is the role?

  • Sourcing and ordering of materials and equipment
  • Progressing Purchase Orders
  • Booking in materials received and recording test certifications
  • Assist with Supplier Records
  • Assist with queries from internal departments and external suppliers
  • Data inputting
  • Assist with the annual stock take, twice yearly
  • General office work including typing and filing
  • Any other reasonable request to suit business needs

What you will bring?

  • Skills and Qualities Desirable from Post Holder
  • Previous experience in a Purchasing or Administrative type role
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Systems
  • Ability to work as part of a team or own initiative
  • Ability to communicate well at all levels, both orally and written with a proficient and confident telephone manner
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word and Outlook
  • Flexible attitude and willingness to support others as part of the wider team


Working Hours: 37 hours a week, (8am to 4.30pm Mon to Thrs & 8am to 1pm Friday)
