Apprentice Fitter

The Apprentice Fitter will gain, through time and in house training, gain the requisite knowledge and experience to manufacture and assemble a diverse range of complex sub-assembly components for various boiler & combustions products to a high standard.

What is the role?

  • Assembly and testing of industrial valves, water gauge cocks, protector assemblies and other associated boiler components.
  • Assembly and testing of burners and combustion products.
  • Fitting and removal of valves, controls and pipework assemblies to industrial steam and hot-water boilers.
  • Undertake maintenance and repair of manufacturing machinery and equipment.
  • Adhere to health and safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment in line with company and legal standards.
  • Record maintenance and repair activities accurately, maintaining proper documentation.
  • Attend and actively participate in apprenticeship training.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
  • Engage with team members, supervisors, and mentors to gain practical experience and improve technical skills.
  • Carry out any other duties within the scope of the apprentice role as requested by supervisors.


What you will bring?

  • A minimum of 5 National 4 passes including English, and Maths.
  • NC level in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Good overall level of physical diversity.
  • Willing to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Reasonable general fitness level required to undertake many of the processes.


Further Information...

  • Standard working hours Monday to Thursday 8 am to 4.30pm with Fridays 8 am to 1pm with breaks at 9.30 am, and 12-12:30 pm.
  • Salary will be as per wage agreement or national minimum wage depending on age and year you join.  It it hoped the apprentice will complete a 4-year apprenticeship, however, it is possible to join from year two elsewhere.
